Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy matters to me. This website is deliberately built to collect as little data as possible: no cookies, no tracking, no analytics, no advertising, no social media plugins and no fonts or scripts loaded from third parties. This policy explains which data is still processed and why. It follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted on behalf of Otto F. Gatternigg by REALONAUT GmbH, Feldgasse 12, 1080 Vienna, Austria, on servers of easyname GmbH, Canettistraße 5/10, 1100 Vienna, Austria. Both act as processors and process data only on instruction and within the European Union.

Whenever you visit this website, the web server automatically records technical information that your browser sends:

  • IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • page or file requested
  • referrer (the page you came from, if transmitted)
  • browser type, version and operating system
  • amount of data transferred and HTTP status code

This data is needed to deliver the website, keep it secure and detect misuse. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are not combined with other data and not used to identify you. According to the hosting provider, they are deleted automatically after 14 days, unless a security incident requires longer retention for investigation.

3. No cookies, no tracking

This website does not set any cookies and does not use analytics or tracking tools. Fonts, images and the video are served from this website’s own server, so no data is sent to font providers, content delivery networks or video platforms when you browse.

4. Contact by email

If you write to me by email, I process your email address, your name (if provided) and the content of your message in order to answer you and, if you wish, to discuss coaching or mentoring. The legal basis is steps prior to entering into a contract or the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and otherwise my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

My email account is provided by Google (Gmail). Your message is therefore stored on servers of Google LLC, which may be located outside the EU, in particular in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, on which the European Commission has based an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).

Please be aware that regular email is not end-to-end encrypted. If your message concerns sensitive matters such as your mental or physical health, you are welcome to keep the first message short and we can agree on the right way to talk.

I keep correspondence only as long as needed for our contact and delete it when it is no longer required, unless legal retention obligations apply.

5. Links to other websites

This website links to LinkedIn, YouTube and podcast platforms. No data is transferred to these services while you are on this website. Only when you click such a link do you leave this website, and the privacy policy of the respective provider applies there. If you contact me via LinkedIn, LinkedIn’s privacy policy applies to that communication.

6. News feed

This website offers a feed (/feed.xml) that feed readers can subscribe to. Requests for the feed are handled like any other page request (see section 2). No subscriber data is collected.

7. AI-generated content

Some visuals on this website were created or enhanced with artificial intelligence. AI-generated video is marked as such. No personal data of visitors is processed by AI systems on this website.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, simply send an email to o.f.gatternigg2@gmail.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your residence. In Austria, where this website is hosted, this is the Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.

9. No automated decisions

No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.

I may update this policy if the website or the legal situation changes. The current version is always available on this page.
